Taste of Newton

Taste of Newton

The 15th Annual Taste of Newton will take place on Monday, September 12, 2016 (Rain date Tuesday, September 13, 2016) from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM on Spring Street in Newton. Each year the street comes alive for a festive evening to kick off the fall season. Live music fills the street for your listening and dancing pleasure.  New this year will be a Chef’s Basket Challenge.  Think Food Network’s ‘Chopped’.  Chef’s will receive an envelope the week before the event with 4 ingredients that must be used in the dish.  One Chef will be named Top Chef of the Taste of Newton.  Chefs can also choose to participate in the People’s Choice Award.  This promises to add extra flavor and excitement to the evening.

Tickets are available in advance for $50.00 each will be sold at the Greater Newton Chamber of Commerce office (973-300-0433).  If there are any tickets available the day of the event the price will be $60.00 each.  Beverages (beer, wine, and mixed drinks) may be purchased throughout the evening.

The continuing popularity of this affair increases community awareness of the many wonderful eating establishments in our local area.  This event is sponsored by the Greater Newton Chamber of Commerce. Proceeds from this event help to fund our Scholarship programs, two of which are Culinary Scholarships for deserving students who wishes to further their education in the food industry.
