The Greater Newton Chamber of Commerce hosts one parade each year, the Annual Holiday Parade, held the Saturday after Thanksgiving each year. This is a magical and fun event for all in attendance. Each year, it grows larger and more festive!
This year: Nov. 25, 2017 - 10am on Spring Street.
Annual Holiday Parade
Saturday, November 25, 2017
We would like to invite your school, organization, business or group to participate in this traditional holiday event by marching in the parade. This event has been being held for over 50 years and has participants from all over our county. The parade begins promptly at 10:00 AM.
The theme for this year’s parade will be ‘Inside Santa’s Workshop’.
Awards will be given for the floats and/or group who best depict the theme. Please be advised that floats and groups that wished to be judged must be in place by 8:30 AM. Judging will begin promptly at 8:30 AM. All floats will enter Lower Spring Street via Diller Ave. Judging will take place before the parade so that as participants reach the reviewing stand we can announce the winners.
All other marchers should arrive between 8:30 and 9:30 AM at the Lower Spring Street staging area. Lower Spring Street will be open for you to drop marchers off but you will not be allowed to park vehicles there. Be advised that the staging area will be blocked off to all vehicular traffic.
Further information about where you can park will be sent after you have registered to march in the parade.
Musical groups, floats, animals and vehicles such as antique cars are welcome to participate. If you are interested in building a float there are several supply and informational sites available on the web.
If you or your group wishes to join in the festivities, please fill out the enclosed form and return it by November 11, 2016.
Mail, email, or fax the form to: Greater Newton Chamber of Commerce, PO Box 386, Newton, NJ 07860
Office phone: 973-300-0433
We look forward to celebrating the beginning of the holiday season with you on November 26th.

The Greater Newton Chamber of Commerce also participates in the Sussex County St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Memorial Day Parade.
Prior to each event, members of the Chamber, their families and friends join together to plan the sequence of the day, make a float and find new ways to demonstrate the Chamber’s festive spirit!
