We are pleased to announce a Battle of the Band’s competition to be held on June, 9th in Memory Park in Newton, NJ beginning at 5pm. This event is proudly sponsored by GNCC member, PonderRosa Studio<\/a>‘s. They received applications from over 30 bands, but in the end, only 8 bands were chosen to compete.<\/p>\n

Rules and Regulations<\/strong>
\n\u25cf All bands must be at the stage with all equipment unloaded and ready to
\ngo by 3:30 PM the day of the event.
\n\u25cf Bands are expected to stay and support all of the other bands during
\ntheir performances.
\n\u25cf Bands are responsible for bringing all of their own equipment. Drum
\nsets, hardware, amplifiers and instruments will NOT be provided.
\n\u25cf Stage plots must be communicated ahead of time.
\n\u25cf A brief description of the instruments used for every band need to be
\ncommunicated. This is to ensure that there will be the proper amount of
\ndirect boxes set for each band prior to their set.
\n\u25cf Bands will be expected to set up quickly. The timer for each set will
\nbegin at a designated time, so the clock will begin ticking regardless
\nif an act is not set up in time. Exceptions to this will be at the
\ndiscretion of the judges and the organizers for this event.
\n\u25cf Each band will be given 15 minutes of time to play, and 10 minutes of
\nset up time. There will be stagehands assisting in the setup and
\nbreakdown of each set. Bands will break down at the same time as bands
\nsetting up. It is expected that all bands quickly break down after
\nplaying and will be subject to penalties for not tearing down in a
\ntimely manner.
\n\u25cf If any act goes over their time limit, they will be disqualified. There
\nare many artists that will be playing, and this is to ensure that
\neverybody has enough time to play out their entire set.
\n\u25cf After each band, the judges will take a moment to one by one evaluate
\nyour performance.

Judging<\/strong>
\nJudging will be based on 5 different categories. Each category will be on a
\nscale of 1-20, 1 being the least, 20 being the most. The winner will be
\ndecided by a total tally of all the points from each judge.<\/p>\n
