Battle of the Bands in Memory Park – June 9th

We are pleased to announce a Battle of the Band’s competition to be held on June, 9th in Memory Park in Newton, NJ beginning at 5pm. This event is proudly sponsored by GNCC member, PonderRosa Studio‘s. They received applications from over 30 bands, but in the end, only 8 bands were chosen to compete.

Rules and Regulations
● All bands must be at the stage with all equipment unloaded and ready to
go by 3:30 PM the day of the event.
● Bands are expected to stay and support all of the other bands during
their performances.
● Bands are responsible for bringing all of their own equipment. Drum
sets, hardware, amplifiers and instruments will NOT be provided.
● Stage plots must be communicated ahead of time.
● A brief description of the instruments used for every band need to be
communicated. This is to ensure that there will be the proper amount of
direct boxes set for each band prior to their set.
● Bands will be expected to set up quickly. The timer for each set will
begin at a designated time, so the clock will begin ticking regardless
if an act is not set up in time. Exceptions to this will be at the
discretion of the judges and the organizers for this event.
● Each band will be given 15 minutes of time to play, and 10 minutes of
set up time. There will be stagehands assisting in the setup and
breakdown of each set. Bands will break down at the same time as bands
setting up. It is expected that all bands quickly break down after
playing and will be subject to penalties for not tearing down in a
timely manner.
● If any act goes over their time limit, they will be disqualified. There
are many artists that will be playing, and this is to ensure that
everybody has enough time to play out their entire set.
● After each band, the judges will take a moment to one by one evaluate
your performance.

Judging
Judging will be based on 5 different categories. Each category will be on a
scale of 1-20, 1 being the least, 20 being the most. The winner will be
decided by a total tally of all the points from each judge.

• Quality of Songs
• Tightness
• Stage Presence
• Musicality
• Crowd Interaction

Prizes
1st Place: 6 Hour Recording session @ PonderRosa Studios – Complimentary Setup/Breakdown
time. This session will also come with Mixing and Mastering for 2 songs. Stems
from the recording session will be provided to the artist as well.

2nd Place: 4 Hour Recording session @ PonderRosa Studios – Complimentary Setup/Breakdown
time. This session will come with Mixing and Mastering for 1 song. Stems from
the recording session will be provided to the artist as well.

3rd Place: 3 Hour recording session @ PonderRosa Studios – Complimentary Setup/Breakdown
time. This session will not be mixed or mastered, however board mixes will be
supplied at the end of the session as well as stems from the recording.
