Center for Prevention and Counseling

The Center, headquartered in Newton, NJ, is one of the leading 501(c)(3) nonprofit agencies providing wellness-focused programs and services to the Sussex County, NJ community. Since 1973, The Center has been promoting hope, health, and recovery among all people by creating an environment that is safe and free from the effects of substance abuse and addiction. The Center provides substance abuse prevention, evaluation, counseling, and addiction recovery services to Sussex County children, teens, adults, seniors, and families regardless of cultural background, socioeconomic status, age, gender, or sexual orientation.

The Sussex County Recovery Community Center, located at 65 Newton-Sparta, Rd, in Newton, NJ, is operated by The Center and provides recovery-focused workshops, meetings, trainings and other support for individuals and families affected by substance use and addiction.

The Center operates a 24/7 Helpline for anyone in Sussex County who is need of help or resources by calling 844-722-CLEAR (844-722-5327). Free Narcan Kits and Overdose Prevention Trainings are available through The Center. Overdose Prevention Training strategies include how to recognize the signs and symptoms of overdose and how to administer Narcan, as well as local recovery support info and resources. These resources are available to individuals as well as Sussex County businesses, public libraries, YMCA's community organizations, and more.
